How is PSU connected with international climate change response efforts? How might your class or program become involved?
This hybrid workshop focused on the United Nations' climate conference and explored ways to address climate change within (and outside of) the curriculum.
About the Facilitator: Frank D. Granshaw, PhD
As adjunct faculty in Geology and University Studies Frank Granshaw teaches Global Environmental Change (GEC) and geology field courses. For GEC he developed an on-line, open source text, the Climate Toolkit: A Resource Manual for Science and Action, which is now in use in 59 countries. He comes to PSU from nearly a quarter century of teaching undergraduate geoscience (retired from PCC) and over a decade working in science museums doing energy and physics education. Outside of his work with PSU, he is active in climate education and advocacy work on local, national, and international levels. Most notably Dr. Granshaw and his wife have been observer delegates to the UN Climate Conferences (COPs) since 2017. Because of this experience he has a particular passion for organizing ways for individuals and groups to meaningfully engage in these international events without spending the money and carbon needed to travel to already overcrowded venues.
