Could you build a rocket with your students, even if you’ve never done it before? At Portland State University, engineering instructor Andrew Greenberg is doing exactly that 🚀
Take a peek inside the “Rocket Room” in the basement of the Engineering Building, where PSU Aerospace Society students and faculty are working side-by-side to build Oregon's next satellites.
This kind of co-learning lab isn’t just for aerospace engineering. It can happen in any classroom. You can turn start with a few principles, and build from there. Andrew recommends:
1. Start with a really challenging, real-world project.
2. Make space for discovery (and lots of mistakes).
3. Work fast to find out, and building over time.
That’s where the learning really takes off.
